Gabrielle Laura on Worthiness, Ego, and Trusting Your Gut
Have you ever felt like something was wrong with you simply because you didn't fit the mold? My guest this week, Gabrielle Laura, felt that exact way for most of her life, until a car accident at 19 kickstarted an eleven-year healing journey that turned her into one of the most sought-after spiritual advisors in the online business world, with clients now paying her $15,000 in full the moment she opens her doors.
Gabrielle's story starts with a near miss. Her car spun three or four times across a busy highway and stopped about a foot from oncoming traffic, and that single moment cracked open a truth she had been avoiding: she didn't trust herself. What followed was panic attacks, therapy, a five-hour daily commute in tech sales, and then getting laid off from her job two days before her husband was laid off from his, in the middle of the pandemic. She moved into her mother-in-law's spare living room with nothing figured out, and that is exactly where her real transformation began.
Out of that collapse, Gabrielle discovered she could channel, meaning she receives and relays intuitive information, in her case from an entity she calls Lara, to help people see what's blocking them around money, relationships, and their own sense of worth. She explains it simply: if the word channeling doesn't resonate with you, think of it as tuning into your own intuition with a lot less static in the way.
Gabrielle isn't the only one saying that trusting yourself is easier said than done. A 2025 survey from Talker Research, conducted on behalf of Life Happens, found that seven in ten Americans lean on intuition, prayer, or gut feeling for their biggest life decisions, and 71 percent of them report zero regrets about it. Separately, research commissioned by Stylist found that only one in ten women between the ages of 25 and 40 report having high self-esteem. That tracks with exactly what Gabrielle sees in her own client work: people chasing money and achievement to finally feel worthy, when worthiness was never something to earn in the first place.
If you've ever downplayed a gut instinct because it didn't come with a spreadsheet to back it up, this episode is your permission slip to stop waiting for proof. Gabrielle's biggest sticky floor was believing she wasn't worthy of what she wanted, and she didn't undo that by thinking her way out of it. She built trust with herself one small action at a time, and you can start today.

Erica: Because honestly, girl, you were never meant to do this alone. Today, we are going to delve into the fascinating world of spiritual guidance, and we are meeting with a spiritual advisor. Now you might be wondering, what is it like to consult with a spiritual adviser? And let me tell you, it's not what you might expect. Unlike conventional counseling or therapy, spiritual advising delves into the realms beyond the material, where we can find meaning and purpose beyond the ordinary.
Erica: Today, I talk with Gabrielle Laura, who has navigated an eleven year sticky healing journey. We'll talk about worthiness and how you can own your feelings of worthiness and how that can impact your financials and your relationships. And the best part, Gabrielle will talk about how to get unstuck from feeling as if you are less than worthy. We're also going to confront the sticky and tricky subject of the ego, the part of us that can either build us up or tear us down. And Gabrielle will give us the tools to navigate its treacherous waters and how we can embrace our authentic selves.
Erica: And finally, judgment. Yes. It's something we all carry often without even realizing it. I am a guilty party for sure. But today, we're gonna talk about embracing empathy, compassion, and open mindedness so that we can have this sense of interconnectedness with others and with ourselves.
Erica: So for today, no matter what you believe in, I'm gonna ask you to keep an open mind and an open heart as we challenge these preconceived notions that we have so that we can begin to question, to grow, and to evolve ourselves. So are you ready?
Erica: Hello, friends. Today's guest is someone that I have personally been following for quite some time ever since I started dabbling in the executive coaching world because today's guest had an amazing Instagram where she talked all about how she was a coach for coaches. And I was like, I need that in my life. But she helped people find their niche. And if I'm honest with you, I was so in awe about how clear her message was and her purpose. And this was back before I was super clear on mine, but this woman, she had it all together and she knew a 100% where she was going and what she was doing.
Erica: Right? She was finding people's niches. So she had hers down, but guess what? We know that that's not how it always is. Right?
Erica: Instagram is not the full story. So without further ado, I am going to welcome Gabrielle Laura, spiritual advisor, intuitive channeler, manifestation nerd, and just all around cool person. So, Gabrielle, how are you today?
Gabrielle: Hello. What a great intro. Thank you so much. And I was chuckling, you know, like, she had it all together in my head. I'm like, oh my God.
Gabrielle: These people are in for truth.
Erica: Yes. I know. But that is the best part about this conversation. But I wanna dive in because as someone who has been following your story, I need to know, like, how did we get to where we are? What is your come up story?
Gabrielle: Oh, my gosh. It, how how long do you wanna be sitting here? Because this is really long, but I will, I will try to fast forward through some parts, but give you guys all of the important pieces. So. Whew.
Gabrielle: Where to begin? I always go back to when I was a little girl. So I am somebody who has just always known that they would run their own business one day. I've always known that. And I've always felt weird.
Gabrielle: Just weird. Like when I was in school, there wasn't like a certain click. I just like fit in with, I just always knew that I was meant to take this road less traveled, but I didn't know how to process that and put that into words as a little girl. Right. And so when I say little girl, I mean, I guess I'll just use 18 and under, but I, I felt very unique.
Gabrielle: Now I would phrase it as unique, but back then I would just phrase it as kind of like a black sheep as like somebody who just didn't really fit in. And so I felt like I was on this constant quest of just like finding, trying to fit in, like finding feeling like I just belong somewhere. But now I realize, and we'll get into this, but thirty years later that, like, I'm I'm meant to carve around power for people. And I wish I had known that as a kid that like, I was really, I'm really meant to be a leader. I'm meant to be the person who like goes down the path first because it felt really isolating as a kid.
Gabrielle: It felt like something was wrong with me. It felt like everyone's making the soccer team, but I'm not, everyone's getting straight A's and I'm getting literally failing grades. The school was not my thing. And I, you know, I, it was really funky. So I felt like I was just on this constant quest of like, okay, what is my thing and how, how can I fit in?
Gabrielle: I just really, really wanted that. And I wanted that because I was looking at others for validation of what I was really just trying to find within myself. And I recognize that now as somebody who has been through a wild healing journey and a spiritual awakening, anyone who is spiritual here, one that I certainly did not ask for was just very lovingly pushed into. But, when I graduated college, which college was not something I wanted to go to, I really put up a fit about how much debt I was going to put myself in. And I would just was not I wouldn't say I wasn't like for education, but I just could see right through it.
Gabrielle: They were like, okay, either you're a nurse, you're a dentist, you're a doctor, you go into business. I couldn't get into any of that. And I had no interest in any of that. I have deep respect for it now. Absolutely.
Gabrielle: But back then, I was just like, none of this appeals to me. Like, I need somebody to help me find my thing. There was nobody available to do that. And I remember sitting down with the career counselor and I filled out this test, it was like 200 question tests and they're like, you're meant to be a gardener. And I was like, what?
Gabrielle: Like this makes note. And I, I mean, growing up, I was very money motivated. I was like, I'm gonna make a shit ton of money and no one is stopping me. So I said, guard now, like, wait a second. However, so maybe I knew something, but I was just like, this is the silliest thing ever.
Gabrielle: So as I was graduating college, I got into a car accident. So I had this really crazy thing happened where I had a tire blow on the highway and I live in Massachusetts. This was like in New Hampshire, but on 95 southbound and you just been very busy highway. And I spun around three or four times different directions. By the grace of God didn't hit anybody.
Gabrielle: Nobody hit me. Didn't fly out by my sunroof or whatever it's called. And I came about a foot from oncoming travel going into the other way. Wow. That moment for me really woke me up because what happened right before that is I was dating someone and at the time I didn't know he was living a double life.
Gabrielle: No one had told me, although all people in my circle knew. And I said to him, you know, I went out, slept over his house. My car tire was flat and I was like, this is weird. And my gut said, call your dad. Cause I knew if I were to call my dad, he would have either come and patched it up or told me what to do.
Gabrielle: But he, this man had said, he was like, I'll take you to the gas station, fill it up. You're good. And I didn't realize that I had no trust in myself. I didn't like myself then, but I had no idea. I, I didn't realize until I looked back on it.
Gabrielle: And so that situation happens. And I remember just sitting there one foot from the highway, the oncoming traffic. And I was like, I knew to not do this. And it was that moment I was, oh my gosh, how old was I? 19 maybe?
Gabrielle: I'm 30 now. That moment literally kickstarted this eleven year healing journey. The last three years were incredibly in-depth. We'll get into that in a moment. But this, this healing journey of learning how to rebuild my relationship with myself, my body went into an absolute panic after that.
Gabrielle: I almost flunked out of school because I couldn't get out of bed. I had panic attack about 20 a day. It was a very, very dark time in my life, but almost felt like I had to get all this energy out of my body quite literally. And then that's when I started therapy and it was this really beautiful journey. But as I was in therapy, I ended up graduating school.
Gabrielle: I got a job and I was really frustrated because I was like, I do not wanna work for somebody else. That is just, it's not my strong suit. I'm terrible employed. But I got a job at a magazine and I was a receptionist and I was making $30 a year living in Boston where the rent was basically $30 a year and single loans and everything. And I remember I was twenty two minutes into my first day and it was 09:22 on the clock.
Gabrielle: And I was like, this is it. There's no way I refuse. I literally refuse. And then I eventually, segued into sales so I could make more money. I did ad sales for a bit.
Gabrielle: And then my boyfriend at the time is now my husband. We moved off to New York. So then I started, I got into tech sale and when I was in tech sales, I commuted to work five hours a day. We lived up in Beacon, New York. My husband's a neurophysiologist.
Gabrielle: So he's on call. He started being near the hospital and where we were, there just wasn't really anything for me. And at this point I still didn't know what to do with my book, like how to do a business. Cause I didn't think I brought anything to the table. It wasn't clear on what it was.
Gabrielle: So five hours a day. And I remember I'd sit on that train and I listened to every single business podcast out there, every single episode, Cause God knows I had the time. And I just said, if there was somebody out here to just help me figure out what it is that I bring to the table, that I can turn into a business, that would be the best thing in the world. So I did that after about eighteen months, did that tech sales in Manhattan. And then we moved out to New Mexico, which is our favorite place in the world.
Gabrielle: And I went remote, which was just the best thing. Now I've finally worked from home. This was pre COVID. And then I remember January 2020. I am not a religious person.
Gabrielle: I was not a spiritual person then, but something in me literally just said, universe, I am ready to do this, please. Just please. I'm ready. And I said, I don't care what my situation is. On 06/01/2020, I'm quitting my job and I'm going all in.
Gabrielle: The universe really heard me because on 04/05/2020, I got laid off from my job and they're like, you're ready. And then two days later, my husband got laid off from his. And so here we were just both cross country from our families were from the East Coast and with nothing. And I was like, I will never again, my entire life, put my livelihood in somebody else's hands to just take and throw away in the middle of a pandemic ever, ever again. So I started my business.
Gabrielle: I started off as a coach. I had no clue what I was selling at all. I literally was just like, have an hour with me and I'll help you through things. Like I that's literally where I'd started. And then I eventually segued.
Gabrielle: I asked myself, I was like, what do I need? I need somebody to help me find my niche. So then I became a niche expert and I did well with that. That was fun. That was a lot of fun.
Gabrielle: But what I didn't realize through that was I had this deeper gift, right. Because I could hear somebody's story and right away, I could tell them what, what they, their uniqueness, what they brought to the table and really how to turn that into a business. And so I did that for. I think like a little over a year or so once I finally got my footing with it. And through that process, we moved back to the East Coast and we were living with my mother-in-law.
Gabrielle: Who's just, she is such an awesome woman. And it was a really big shock going to like always having your own place. And like, we had a house, you know, just a few months ago in New Mexico and like apartments and all that. And now you're, we were living in an old living room, with my two dogs, my cat, me and my, he he was my boyfriend at the time before we were engaged. And I felt like life just fell apart.
Gabrielle: My dogs who were best friends started hating each other, started fighting. It was, it was awful. And it just felt like every single insecurity that that I've ever had in my life boiled up to the surface. And here I am in my mother in law's spare living room, still confused about what just happened to my life. And, You know, I'll, I'll spare more details, but it was a very, very, very dark period. And I was deeply confused. So a friend of mine is a dog channeler.
Gabrielle: And the first thing is it felt like my family had fallen apart. Eric and I were kind of in shambles. The dogs were in shambles. It's stuck. So I hopped on the phone with Meg and she said, she's like, your soul is ascending.
Gabrielle: You're going through a spiritual awakening, and mind you guys, I didn't know a single thing about spirituality then. I was like, what are you, what, like, what does that even mean? Like, explain that to me and like, as if I'm like two years old, because that makes no, what does this mean? Like what is happening?
Gabrielle: She's like, you're, you're essentially going through it. You're going through a spiritual awakening. So then I started Googling that looking for help, looking for resources. And I was just taken on this wild ride. So we tried to buy a house and this was in New England in 2021, 2020 to 2021.
Gabrielle: If you didn't have, but $800,000 in cash, you weren't even getting a ranch, baby. You were getting nothing. You weren't getting the damn thing. And so for thirteen months, we tried to get a house. We thought we'd be with my mother-in-law for about five weeks, thirteen months. And our eleventh offer finally got accepted. It was a very grueling time for me.
Gabrielle: I was wildly impatient, but it actually, it truly worked out. So at that time I'm still doing the niche stuff. And then I started having this experience where I would be talking to people and I would hear two or three sentences in my head and I could not focus unless I either wrote them down or I said it to the person. It was the weirdest thing ever, ever. And then finally, I was actually interviewing somebody on my podcast, the old podcast that I had, and she happened to be a channeler.
Gabrielle: And so she was on there telling her story. When we stopped recording, I said to her, I was like, I, can I share this with you? I have like three things that I just randomly thought of when you were talking. And I told her and she, they really resonated with her. And she was like, well, I have a gift for you.
Gabrielle: And I was like, what? She's like, you know, you're a channeler. Right? And I was like, is that what this is? Is that what this is?
Gabrielle: Mind you, I was getting married a week later and I'm marrying somebody who is like, that's not his thing. Like, would he never add anything like that? So I'm like, this just keeps getting gnarlier and gnarlier. Like, what do I do here? So I think I was actually getting married two weeks later because the week I was getting married, I went off to a retreat for the mastermind I'm in and I sat down with the girl.
Gabrielle: And at this point I just had no shame. I was like, I just felt like I was at the bottom and I just, I gotta just get this out there. I was like, look, I think I can channel. Can I practice on anybody? Caubabies.
Gabrielle: Like there with one woman, her baby was right there. She found out a few weeks later she's pregnant and her baby's like communicating with me. I'm talking to grandparents. I'm seeing sole purposes. I'm seeing literally what's blocking these people.
Gabrielle: I'm going back in their childhood. Never. I'm getting like wicked chills right now.
Erica: And you know what that means this time? I was like, yeah, but I was like, it's like the door just opened for you. Like the door of possibility just blew open with this.
Gabrielle: It was, it was just bonkers. And then I come back from Hawaii and I shifted my entire business. I was like, I gotta do this. I've got to do this. I've got to go in for it.
Gabrielle: And so black Friday rolls around and I offered, you know, dollars 97 reading to just 15 people. They've sold out in like twenty minutes to book.
Erica: I was one of them.
Gabrielle: Yeah. Weather alert. People scooped them up. And then, and before I knew it, before even had sales pages for my spiritual advising that cost $15,000. People are paying me in full.
Gabrielle: People are signing up. I'm like, all right, we're going. And I've just been going every time.
Erica: Well, and for anyone who's listening to this podcast, who's like, I don't know about all this. Like, it might sound too easy to me. I will tell you. I don't know what called me to sign up for it. I don't know if it was because I had been following her.
Erica: Whatever. It I was called to sign up. So I was one of those who snatched up that early slot. And one of the first things that she said, because I went into it with a little bit of a skeptical mind probably, and I'm like, I'm gonna see what she says. I'm gonna sit here and I'm gonna listen and see what she says. And one of the things that stuck out in my reading was you said, like, I just keep seeing these drunk goggles. And I didn't say anything. She's and you, at the time, attached it to something different.
Erica: I can't remember what it was, but for anyone who listens to this podcast, they know that I don't drink because they know I drink too much. And so later when I confessed that and it said brought it out,
Gabrielle: she was like, no, it all makes sense.
Erica: But the fact that, like, right off the bat, she's like, I'm seeing these drone goggles.
Gabrielle: I was like, holy shit.
Erica: No. She's the real deal. Yeah. Like now I have this whole new relationship with myself and I would trust I had, like, I couldn't put it into words. I'm so grateful for this journey. And I can see why I had to navigate through all that because all the things I had to navigate, like I had to deal with a lot around money a lot. That's what I help people with now. Everything I navigated, I'm now in, I help people with.
Erica: So what I think is so important to hone in on is that you said this was an eleven year journey.
Gabrielle: I've reached so many people,
Erica: and you said patience too was something you really struggled with. That is such a sticky floor is wanting it and wanting it right now. And especially for people who are very driven, who wanna go after it, we always want the answers. And I think pointing out that this was a true eleven year journey.
Gabrielle: Mhmm. Like, you could—
Erica: for everyone listening, like, you could be starting your journey today. It could be one year. It could be ten years. It could be fifty years.
Gabrielle: Mhmm. Absolutely. And it takes what it takes. The thick of it was literally three straight years. Three straight years. It sounds dramatic, but I was like, there was just so many times I wanted to give up. I was like, I I'm can't do this. I'm not so up for this, but then I did.
Gabrielle: And now I can see, and the amount of abundance that came from that is just the most beautiful thing and not just money. Peace. I could look in that. I can look in the mirror and be like, I love you so much. I'm at peace with myself.
Gabrielle: Cause I made peace with myself. I'm calm. I used to be wildly anxious with it. I'm calm. Like I, I don't stress about things.
Gabrielle: I just know that everything's gonna work out. And so it's it I I would now I can say I would do it all over again a million times.
Erica: Well, but I think what you just talked about, right, trust, peace, calmness, knowing that it's gonna be okay. That's really what everybody's after. That's really what everybody like, we think we want the money. We think we want the accolades and the success, but, really, we're looking for that sense of peace and purpose.
Gabrielle: That's all. It's it's it's that. And it's so funny because I am a spiritual advisor for a lot of the top people in the online space. But it's people who have made a lot of money and people who chase the money. The thing that they all want is to be a piece of themselves.
Erica: That's also because they got all that. They're like, check it done. You know?
Gabrielle: They tried to find it through money and realized it wasn't through money, and then their body literally stopped them.
Erica: Well, it's only of the times we think it will come with money. Right?
Gabrielle: Right.
Erica: Because we think that if we have the money, we have the security. Check. Check. Check. And, yes, money is important because everybody needs money to live, but money is not going to make you happy. Money is not going to give you purpose or fulfillment or peace.
Gabrielle: Exactly. And they I don't know if you noticed now how many of these founders, like the OG people are on sabbatical now—
Erica: Mhmm.
Gabrielle: who are leaving. Yeah. I work with a lot of them. And in their sabbatical, like what we channel their purpose from there, they did nothing even remotely close to this. It's simplifying their life. Yeah. It's slow living. I have so many releases where they say that it's it's it's not this deep masculine work. It's them healing their relationship with their feminine side and finding this balance in their life. It wouldn't surprise me if any of them come back into business.
Gabrielle: They're all like investors and stuff now. Which is really cool.
Erica: So on this podcast, we talk all about like the sticky floors, and those are the limiting beliefs, toxic behaviors that keep us stuck. And when I was thinking through your story before I asked you to be on here, I was like, I I'm not even living her life, but I feel like there's 87 sticky floors.
Gabrielle: No. I mean, probably 4,000,000,000.
Erica: What do you feel was, like, that biggest sticky floor for you while you were going through this entire experience?
Gabrielle: I didn't feel worthy of anything that I wanted to call forward, and I had no idea that that was the root of it. I didn't feel worthy of money, but, but I didn't, I didn't know that until I did the deep digging. I was chasing the crap out of that money, but deep down, I didn't feel worthy of it. Real family, family was an intense one for me. I all my family, my in laws, they all follow me on Instagram.
Gabrielle: And I was like, how do I explain this? How do you explain this to a non spiritual person at a family pool party? I still don't know what to say. I'm just like, oh, I'm doing do business. I still think about that.
Gabrielle: L
Erica: Well, you're actually leading me directly into the area that I wanted to talk about next because you have a podcast called the secrets from the universe, and I listened to that, of course. But your latest episode drop, I think it was the most recent one, episode nine. You talk about feeling worthy. And I love that because spoiler alert for you, every guest that I have, I always ask them, what is the one piece of advice that you would give your younger self? And majority of the people always say, I wish I knew my worth.
Erica: And so you putting that podcast out and the main message that I hear from all of these amazing women on my show, I'm just like, holy shit. So my question for you then is, like, why do you think we struggle so much to know our worth?
Gabrielle: It's a very humanized thing. So when I channel this, and so for anyone listening, I channel this entity named Lara and Lara just defines himself with infinite wisdom. If you're spiritual, they read the Akashic record of the universe. If you're not spiritual, think of it as like a Chad GPT or a Google search for the universe. It's a very humanized thing.
Gabrielle: It's very ego based, but like I always say we're soul having this human experience. Right. And ego is a massive part of the human experience. And the ego is actually a really beautiful thing. It's an incredibly important thing because it shows you what's out of alignment.
Gabrielle: It's very, very, very necessary. But when we're growing up, right. Our, if our parents tied their work to some sort of achievement or material thing, that's exactly what we learned to do. And I feel like it's just now in this, in the, in the past, I don't know, three to five years that people realize, oh, wow. I can't, that, that doesn't feel good to do that.
Gabrielle: So I'm really hoping the kids coming up in, in these generations kind of learn otherwise, but we're just taught we're, we're taught to do that. But spiritually speaking the way that, like we'll talk about it from a manifestation lens, everyone wants to manifest. And if the word manifestation doesn't resonate with you, think of the word goal or goodbye. Everyone's got some. When you do that, you got to manifest or reach a goal out of a place of feeling worthy without having it.
Gabrielle: Because the universe sees you as whole and worthy. If you were naked, standing, sleeping under a bridge with literally no possessions at all, you are just as worthy as the richest person in the world. Nothing makes you worthy. You are worthy because you are a human being. You are a soul having a human experience.
Gabrielle: So once people really come to accept that and shed everything that's standing in the way of them really fully believing that. And, you know, you believe it when you can say I'm worthy without a look of resistance in your body, then you're there. But it's, it's just a learning habit. It's just the ego. And it's unfortunately something that we, we almost all learn to do.
Erica: Hey there, listeners. If you have ever felt like you're stuck in a place, held back by self doubt, perfectionism, or that pesky inner critic, you're not alone. We all face those sticky floors that keep us fromother than the great Mel Robbins, best selling author and motivational powerhouse. Erica: It's your road map to success, confidence, and freedom. Grab your copy of Glass Ceilings and Sticky Floors today at http://www.ericaandersonrooney.com. Whether you're in the boardroom, the classroom, or just starting out, this book is for you because no one, and I mean no one, deserves to stay stuck, no one deserves to feel small, and you have glass ceilings to shatter. Let's do this. I love that because judgment is such a big one.
Erica: We judge ourselves. We judge others, and I always see judgment really rearing its ugly head and showing up. And I think you said that on your podcast, what you just said here about how that shows you where you're out of alignment. Yeah. And so for myself, every time I catch myself judging myself or others, I'm like, oh, there we go.
Erica: Oh, shit. Don't add that right again. We're always going to judge. Like, we're never gonna be judgment free, but the beauty is when you become aware of these things, you start to notice all those judgments. And so you are more in tune with your own ego and kind of just like diving in on that and and kind of course correcting a bit.
Gabrielle: Absolutely. It's all about that conscious awareness. And I always say you have two options. You can go down the route of ego or you can go down the route of alignment. And the route of alignment sees everything out of love.
Gabrielle: So if ten years ago, you were at the bar and you wanted to kind of judge somebody for their outfit in your head, now you kind of catch yourself wanting to do that. And you seem like, oh, oh, yeah. The old me would've done that, but I think it's, like, good for them for expressing themselves. You just you you like you said, your course correct. You literally catch it.
Gabrielle: And you've gotta release and shun habits that aren't serving you anymore. It's not patterns that aren't serving you anymore. And judgment is definitely one of those for sure.
Erica: So that's another reason why I just wanted to have you on this show because I feel a lot about what you talk about overlaps a lot of the limiting beliefs and the things that I talk about and work with people on of like, you also have to be open to receiving possibilities. You have to be open to trusting yourself or to take that step forward without knowing what's gonna happen and to put yourself there. And a lot of the times not knowing what that end result is going to be, and that can be really, really hard. Do you have any ways that people be, can begin to trust themselves and become, you know, a vessel that's ready to receive?
Gabrielle: Take action on a gut instinct that you have. So if your gut is telling you let's go to the grocery store today instead of Friday or Saturday, so we beat the lines, we can enjoy our weekend, go tonight. Even if it's out of your schedule, you gotta leave the kids with grandma or something, go with that. So that is the best way to build trust with yourself. If you get an intuitive nudge, a gut instinct, a gut feeling, whatever you wanna call it, and you actually take action on it.
Gabrielle: And then afterwards you check-in with how you feel, because you're gonna feel good. That is how it's through action. You build trust through action. You've got to build that trust direction for sure.
Erica: That's awesome. Cause that is a very tangible thing, because I know there are so many people out there who get those urges, right? Gut instincts, but they just ignore it because it's not what they do every day. It's not how they do it.
Gabrielle: Your life will become significantly better and easier if every moment we made was intuitive.
Erica: And isn't that what we're all after? Sure.
Gabrielle: Exactly. Easier life. Exactly. But it's like, we just kind of get stuck in our own ways. But with all the people I meet, I mean, when I channel, I'm literally just channeling other things, but really a lot of your intuition.
Gabrielle: So I'm just regurgitating back what your intuitive nudges already are. And I always say the difference is you just trust hearing them from me than you do for yourself. So for anyone listening, I deeply encourage you. Next time you get that nudge where it literally just feels like a text message download in your brain, go for it. Take action on it.
Gabrielle: You're going to start building trust with yourself. You're going to feel incredibly better, but your life will be so much easier. But what also throws people off is our intuition. It's not black and white. It's not logical.
Gabrielle: It's not one plus one equals two. So let's say you own a business and you want to make a million more dollars. Ask your intuition how to do that. And you know what they may say go on a three day vacation to Maine by yourself. And then we're gonna be like, oh, but the kids and, and while I shouldn't spend the money or my wife and my husband or my partners are gonna get mad at me, or my parents are gonna give me crap or watching the kids get like, we think of every single excuse.
Gabrielle: You are all resourceful being. Figure it out and go.
Erica: I love that because it is so easy to do both of that. Right. It's so easy to ignore it, but it also so easy to do it and to listen.
Gabrielle: Exactly. And, and so when you're on that vacation in Maine, you might get a wicked clear idea of something to launch. You may meet somebody who introduces you to somebody like I, the stories I hear, the things I've experienced. And I'll give you an example here. A short story back when I was like deeply struggling with money, I was like, universe things, please send me clients.
Gabrielle: And I was washing, I was doing the dishes, the water. I always get a lot of downloads in like the shower and like washing my hands and stuff. It was 10AM on a Monday. You think that's like prime grind time in the business. And I heard go take a nap.
Gabrielle: And I was like, I can't, I have this, this, this, this. I need to be doing that. And I literally was like, I'm so I have no, I have nothing to lose. I'm gonna go take a nap. I took a nap for about forty five minutes and I woke up to three people inquiring to work with me.
Gabrielle: And two of them that made me feel—
Erica: Wow.
Gabrielle: And you can't look it up. It's it really is that easy.
Erica: No. So now you're successful. This is rocking it out. Is your husband like, holy shit?
Gabrielle: Yeah. Yeah. He is. He's like, he yes, exactly. And he's just, I I'm waiting for the day to retire that man.
Gabrielle: I'm like, it's so soon. Don't you worry. He's he works in surgery. His schedule's crazy. Boston ARA is a huge trauma center.
Gabrielle: He manages all like, it's just boggles. It's It's wild. So I'm like, well, we're we are so close.
Erica: I love it. So now I have to ask you, and you already knew this question was coming. If you could give one piece of advice to the Gabrielle who's sitting there doing a five hour commute and struggling and just all throughout this eleven year journey, what would that piece of advice be?
Gabrielle: You gotta hang in there. It's all gonna make sense one day. You've got to hang in there. It's all gonna make sense. And it's safe for you to be who you are.
Gabrielle: It is safe for you to be who you know that you are. You belong.
Erica: Yeah. That's beautiful.
Erica: Now I wanna give also another minute. Talk about where people can find you, how people can work with you, get in touch with you, because I think like me, a lot of people are gonna be like, holy shit. This is so cool. I need a doctor.
Gabrielle: Oh, I know that. Thank you so much. So come hang out with me on Instagram at gabrielle laura. Gabrielle has two e's in it. Listen to my podcast, Secrets from the Universe podcast.
Gabrielle: It's all channels through Lara. I go on Instagram, what topics you guys want, and then I literally just channel those topics for you all. And then the only way to work with me is through my membership, actually. So I have a $44 a month membership, and we do one monthly group call. We just had the first one yesterday where we do hot seat channeling.
Gabrielle: We do group group channeling. We do release work. And within that membership, there's a ton of all channeled exercises, EFT cappings, visualizations, everything to get you guys closer to this life that you wanna live.
Erica: Oh, that is so cool. And I'm gonna link all of that in the show notes in case y'all are trying to drive. Don't be worried about scribbling this down. But, Gabrielle, thank you so much. It was so cool to have you on the show.
Gabrielle: Thank you. And thank you to everyone who was listening. It's been an honor to be here. I really appreciate it.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What does it mean to "channel" as a spiritual advisor?
In this episode, Gabrielle Laura explains that channeling means receiving and relaying intuitive information, in her case from an entity she calls Lara. If the concept feels too far out there, she says to think of it as tuning into your own intuition, since most of what she channels is really a reflection of the nudges you already have.
What is a "sticky floor" and how does it relate to worthiness?
A sticky floor is Erica Anderson Rooney's term for the limiting beliefs and toxic behaviors that keep women stuck below the glass ceiling, things like self-doubt, perfectionism, and impatience. Gabrielle Laura names not feeling worthy of money, love, or success as her biggest sticky floor, and says worthiness is something you already have, not something you earn.
How can you learn to trust your intuition or gut instinct?
Gabrielle Laura says you build trust with yourself the same way you build trust with anyone else, through repeated action. When you get a gut instinct or intuitive nudge, act on it, then notice how you feel afterward. That small feedback loop, repeated over time, is what makes your intuition feel reliable instead of risky.

Hi, I'm Erica!
In the last 15 years, I climbed to Chief People Officer, 6x'd my income, walked away from a culture that stopped matching my values, wrote two books, and built HER Collective to help thousands of women rise to power and lead in the age of AI. I've learned a thing or two about smashing ceilings and closing gaps, and Glass Ceilings & Sticky Floors is where I open the playbook, the receipts, and the real stories to share it all with you.
